First Week of School

posted Sep 3, 2016, 4:42 AM by Mark McDonough
The first week of school is officially in the books. It was a great start to the 2016-17 school year! Though there were a few back-to-school jitters and tears (as there are each year) the vast majority of students looked thrilled to return to GCS, excited to see friends, and meet new teachers. This says a lot about the GCS community. I've spent a good part of my week meeting with staff individually. To get to know GCS, and help make plans for our future, I've been asking them two questions: "What makes GCS great?" and "What needs improving?". The wonderful thing about their responses is that they are overwhelmingly positive. It's a great place to be.

Next week we welcome Pre-K into the building. It's an exciting time for these little ones, I'm sure. I'm looking forward meeting our newest "Gators"!

Have a great Labor Day weekend!
