September Newsletter

posted Sep 6, 2019, 9:56 AM by Gail Marine

This is our September Newsletter it went home with your child on Sept. 5th. I am attaching a PDF copy if you would like to print it out. Thank you for your continued support.

Welcome! Our first week of school went really well. The seventh graders have adjusted very quickly to the middle school schedule. Each month I will be sending home a newsletter with updates on curriculum and important dates.

The students are all given an agenda book on the first day of school. Please review the handbook with your student and complete the form on page 26. Return signed forms to your child’s advisor. As you read the handbook please note some of these topics:

·      Every student is expected to read 30 minutes daily outside of school.

·      Attendance is very important at Tripp. Please make sure your child is in attendance every day there is school. If they are absent from school, please call the school in the morning.

Every year 7th graders and new 8th graders and their parents are required to attend a Technology meeting. This year the meeting will be held on the same date as the Open House. We felt this would help families with busy schedules be able to attend. The required meeting is September 18th from 5:30 – 6:00. The Open House will follow immediately after the technology meeting and will begin in the gym.

Friends of Tripp will be looking for both 7th and 8th grade parents to help out with fundraising this school year.  Monies will fund activities such as  the 8th grade dance and end of the year field trip for 8th grade students as well as other activities for both 7th & 8th graders. Our first meeting will be held on September 11th @ 6:30 pm in the Media Center at Tripp.  We will be exploring ideas for fundraising this school year.  Ms. Learned will be spearheading this group.  Please come and join her to get ideas rolling for making the most of our fundraising efforts to celebrate our students!

Student/Athletes may also be picked up at the school at that time. Please be prompt in picking up your student/athlete!

Lockers are available for all student/athletes. Please encourage your student/athlete to lock his or her personal belongings during practices and games to prevent the loss of valuables.
